| Grimbold turning a bowl. A spring pole lathe allows the worker to turn the wooden blank by stepping on the board below the lathe. If properly set up each press down will turn the blank more than a full revolution. When the board is released the blank reverses direction and spins back.Wood is worked green in this environment.
