Iron Smelting Experiment V - 2005

The first thing we noticed was that the clay smelter was shorter than we had planned. This was fixed by setting a single course of firebrick in the hole in the ground, and placing the smelter on top of it. If we had had more clay handy we could have just added the height we needed.
